Automatic Light Control

Energy Saving Sensors

The PIR Sensor Switch can detect the Infrared Rays released by the human body. The light or any other electrical appliance can be activated automatically by the active presence of a human body within the detection range/coverage area & when there is no presence the light will be deactivated automatically.

Security lights get switched on whenever it detects an intruder within its field of view. Such systems may be based on PIR or Photosensitive sensors. A PIR may be connected to normal lights to make security lights (which requires technical knowledge). Security lights are very useful to scare intruders especially if these lights are employed in the compound or on the rooftops. When the lights are switched ON, the intruder feels that he has been detected and the owner is trying to confirm this. Normally this will deter the intruder from making any further attempts.

For the safety and security of homes and offices especially when there is no one in the house automatic/timer-based lights are very helpful. Such lights are automatically switched on after a predefined time. Normally, it is feasible to program these lights to switch ON or OFF at any particular time. However, if the house is going to be alone for a long time then a thief can see that the lights are switched on or off at the time same time every day (provided he is keeping a vigil over days). This may arise his suspicion and such light may not be useful in such situations.

PIR Motion Sensor for Automatic Light Control

PIR Motion Sensor is a fully automatic indoor and outdoor security/courtesy light controller capable of controlling up to 2000W incandescent or 30W x 20 fluorescent lighting in the day as well as at night. The built-in Passive Infrared (PIR) Motion Sensor turns on the connected lighting system when it detects motion in its coverage area. During the day, the built-in Photocell Sensor saves electricity by deactivating the lights. You can reduce your electricity bills by using PIR Motion Sensors & Occupancy Sensors.

An adjustable time knob lets you select how long the light stays on after activation & thus stops the wastage of electricity. In the evening or at night, you can also manage at what time the lights should become ON by the LUX adjustment knob provided in the Sensor.

Energy Saving Sensor

By the use of a PIR Sensor, considerable energy can be saved by switching off the lights when the space is not in use. Savings are huge in larger facilities.

It has been estimated that a single unit of energy saved at the end use point is equal to 2.3 units of energy produced.

If energy-efficient methods are implemented properly about 25000 MW equivalent capacity of power can be saved through the promotion of energy-efficient measures

PIR Motion Sensor for Security of Houses

If PIR Motion Sensor is installed in the front yard or back yard of your house, it works as Security Sensor at night. As if anybody jumps or sneaks within its detection range, the connected lights / Sirens or beeps can be activated automatically to create Panic in the Intruder.

Working Principle

  • The PIR Sensor senses the motion of a human body by the change in surrounding ambient temperature when a human body passes across.
  • Then it turns on the lighting load to which it is connected.
  • The lighting load will remain ON until it senses motion.
  • Once the motion is seized it switches OFF the lighting load.
  • During the night, the LUX adjustment knob allows you to adjust the luminosity based on which the lighting load will either switch on / off automatically.

Applications

  • Common toilets, for lights & exhaust fans
  • Common staircase / Entrance / Basements
  • Parking areas / garden lights
  • Living room, Malls, ATMS
  • Changing rooms in shops
  • Offices / Conference Room
  • Corridors & many more!

Advantages

  • PIR Motion Sensors will recover their cost by reducing your electricity bills and will further save your electricity cost for the future.
  • Very easy installation and can be installed by in–house technician itself.
  • No separate wiring is required hence no additional installation cost.
  • No modification is required and complies with current aesthetics.
  • Pay back within ten months according to the residential meter and six months according to the commercial meter.

For higher wattage Electrical Appliances the saving will be much more accordingly.

For Example:-

Investment on One PIR sensor = Rupees 2350.00

Rupees 3600 recovered in 30 days (As per above table)

Rupees 2350 recovers in how many days?

= 2350/3600 X 30 days

= 19.58 or say 20 days

If Sensor is used for 12 Months, you will save Rupees 43200 (12 months X Rupees 3600).

Therefore cost saving in 1st year will be Rupees 43200 – 2350 (cost of one PIR) = Rupees 40850/-

Not only you will recover the cost of one PIR Sensor but also you will save electricity worth Rupees 40850/- in 1st year & Rupees 43200 for every next year. Moreover the approximate life of the sensor is minimum of 5 to 6 years, therefore in 5 years you can save Rupees 2, 13,650/- (1st year X 40850 & for 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th-year Rupees 43200 each)
